Cruise Images

Cruise parties provide participants an exciting and unforgettable experience where they can enjoy jazz concerts, salsa dancing and fusion cuisines while on board. One can enjoy an exquisite cruise and banquet on the Hangang River that runs across Seoul as well as on the seas near Busan and Jeju. Organizations can rent the space to hold dinners, events and seminars. Water sports and parties are also made available.
On Hangang River, in particular, there is a floating restaurant on the dock and cruise tours that feature a buffet and live performances on board.
On Jeju-do Island, you can enjoy a cruise party with Mir Cruise that departs from Dodu Harbor. The cruise ship is 5.5 tons, 50m long and 10m wide, and can accommodate as many as 399 passengers.

Philkyungjae is a 500-year-old traditional house turmed restau rant that serves authentic royal cuisine. Visitors can sample duteop tteok, a dish that in the past was only served in royal palaces; gungjung sinseollo (royal hot pot) made with more than 20 ingredients; and the colorful gujeolpan (platter of nine delicacies).

Traditional Arts Performances at Korea House
Since 1981, more than 1.5 million tourists have visited the Korea House and have watched some 15,000 arts performances. Korea House, with its traditional architecture, offers an anthology of performances representing 9 traditional genres of art. They include Pansori (traditional opera) which was designated as a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage in 2003; and Salpuri (folk dance performed in shaman rituals) designated as the 97th Important Intangible Cultural Asset of Korea.

Original Musical Combining Traditional Music and Dance, MISO
MISO is based on the folk tale “Chunhyangjeon”, a love story between a young couple, which combines beautifully with the traditional dance, exciting songs and Korean instrumental music. MISO 2 – Silla, the Land of Gods – is shown at the Performance Hall at the Cultural Center of the Gyeongju World Culture EXPO. It shows the splendid culture of Silla dynasty with its thousand years of rich history.

Relax with Dynamic Rhythms and Beats, NANTA
Korea’s first non-verbal performance NANTA is a powerful percussion show that uses kitchen tools, such as knives and cutting boards, to create beats. Comic Performance Combining Oriental Martial Arts and Acrobatics, JUMP
JUMP is an original performance that incorporates dynamic oriental martial arts, such as taekwondo and taekgyeon, with fantastic acrobatics. The story begins with a clumsy thief who breaks into the home of martial arts masters, from where the fun begins.

Traditional Performing Arts Experience
This program gives the participants a chance to experience and learn traditional Korean performing arts and folk plays, as well as their history and techniques in an easy and interesting way. Participants watch various performances to feel the charm of traditional arts. They then can learn how to play the instruments or learn the songs they heard in the performances.
The program starts with a spectacular parade of performances and leads to a samulnori (traditional percussion quartet) performance, during which participants can learn the rhythm and beat. Folk songs and mask performances follow, which also involve learning sessions. The finale features a percussion performance.

Unhyeongung Royal Residence
Unhyeongung was the royal residence of Gojong, the 26th King during the Joseon Dynasty. Now the residence offers various experience programs, such as the Traditional Costume Experience in which one can wear traditional outfits and take photos around the palace; the Story about Unhyeongung (MP3 audio guide); Traditional Decorum Class; and the Gugak Experience Class (for more than 30 participants). An arts event takes place every Sunday presenting various Korean arts performances. There are also various exhibitions that display placenta jars, miniature royal costumes, and embroideries. Another regular event is the royal wedding ceremony of King Gojong and Empress Myeongseong.

at Namsangol Hanok Village
Namsan Mountain offers magnificent natural views, which is why Korean ancestors built pavilions near the valley to enjoy the scenery with entertainment and art. And this legacy still remains. Namsangol Hanok Village offers traditional plays, games and dance performances. In 2012, the village started providing culture experience programs, including classes to make miniature janseungs (traditional totem poles) and sotdae (traditional pole signifying prayers for a good harvest) on Saturdays. And on Sundays, classes to make crafts with wooden pieces and straw are available.

Korea House promotes traditional royal cuisine, presents traditional arts performances and offers sophisticated and unique cultural products. This beautiful house is in the typical traditional architecture style of upper class families from the Joseon period. It consists of men’s quarters, inner quarters, servants’ quarters, an annex, and a backyard. Korea House offers various experience programs, such as traditional lifestyles, royal cuisine, crafts, folk music and dance, and traditional wedding ceremony programs. You can also learn to make kimchi and learn about folk dances, samulnori (percussion quartet), taekgyeon (martial arts), paper crafts, and knot tying for masks. Through these experiences you will feel the charm and beauty of traditional Korean culture.
