The tenth World Korean Business Convention opened in Busan with some 33-hundred ethnic Korean businesspeople from 40 countries taking part. The convention kicked off on November 2nd under the slogan “Open the Future to the World, Hansang.” Hansang means “Korean business” in Korean. During the opening ceremony of the convention, Prime Minister Kim Hwang-sik said the business convention is actively helping small Korean firms make advancements into market overseas. He said the government will provide active support so
that the “global Hansang network” will expand throughout all parts of the globe. From Thursday, business seminars on food and dining, cutting-edge technology, harbors and logistics were held. The convention also held one-on-one business meetings and a strategic seminar on creating a “Hansang Textile Belt,” or a network of Koreans in the global textile industry.
