The 1st UNWTO Regional Conference on Tourism Industry Partnerships: Future Tourism for Asia and the Pacific

The 1st UNWTO Regional Conference on Tourism Industry Partnerships: Future Tourism for Asia and the Pacific will be held in Seoul from May 31 to June 2, 2013 at InterContinental Seoul COEX. It is jointly organized by the Korea Tourism Organization (KTO) and the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism of the Republic of Korea. The Conference will be held on the occasion of the Korea World Travel Fair (KOTFA), one of the major travel fairs in Asia. About 180 people will present including representatives from affiliate member organizations of the two tourism bodies, members of Korean tourism agencies and experts, to discuss the future of tourism in the Asia-Pacific region.

With special emphasis on Asia and the Pacific region, the main objective of the Conference is to create a platform for the participants to dialogue and share their vision on how to advance tourism in the context of a technology-driven world with the inclusion of ethical and sustainable development strategies. The Conference will be preceded by the High Level Leaders Meeting to take place in the evening of the 31st of May where UNWTO Board Members are invited.
